CAN YOU SAY BUSY?

Hi everyone, sorry I have been missing for a few week, but we have been so busy here!  As you all know we have some guests move in for about 6 months and it is a big change for us emptynesters and a big change for the poor doggies!  There is no such thing as quiet time!

We have baby furniture again...we haven't had any in this house for years, since our youngest is going to be 20.

 

The doggies spend there time under or around the table 3 times a day since my grandson thinks its funny to drop food, so now the doggies are banned from the dining room until after meal time, otherwise I will have some pretty fat, unhealthy dogs in 6 months!  That's pretty much all for now, gotta run!  Theres always so much to do when you have kids and dogs in the same house.

NOT SO EMPTYNEST ANYMORE

We had this great life after the 5 kids moved out.  After years of raising children, there was some ME time and I could come and go as I pleased.  I got a few doggies (OK, six ), the kids and grand kids would visit and go home...I just gotta say again it was great!  But to make along story short.....we have kids again.

 

My daughter, her husband and 2 children (and cat) needed a place to stay for 6 months while they wait on there new house and while it may take a little getting used too,( it could be a long 6 months, or a short 6 months) I'm sure we will have great memories, (once its over).

 

The dogs already got the baby figured out!  They know if they wait long enough she will drop something.  Id be scared if I seen 5 dogs surround my chair while I was eating!

And the pups have to share there chair and there daddy!

 

So yes, we will all be adjusting (and the poor cat will have to get used to dogs chasing her) and gramma will have to give up her FREE time for now, but for these cute faces I would give up anything!(except the hubby or the doggies, or the other kids)

 



 



RAIN, RAIN....GO AWAY!

We had no rain all summer, I mean NO rain...so yeah, I guess we did need a bit.  Especially to keep the dust of the gravel and limestone in the dogs area  from looking like we were having a dust storm every time one of the dogs ran on it!  Two days worth of rain isn't our idea of fun though with 6 dogs.

 

Our dogs are spoiled...rotten!  The only time they would like to go outside without me is the early morning bathroom run...5am.  I have stood out in countless thunderstorms, pouring rain showers and winter blizzards...cause the dogs INSISTED I do that or they weren't going either.  How did we ever get to this point!  This is how I spent my weekend folks......

 

It seemed like every time I would manage to talk them into going out, it would rain a little harder and they would all run back to the door.  I, of course, was left standing there, by myself, trying to coax 6 dogs to "get down here and do your business"!  My red twins gave me this attitude.....

I believe they were telling me that they WERE NOT leaving that spot to go no where that it wasn't dog friendly and well,Sebastian, he pretty much stuck his nose up at me too!  Man, theirs nothing worst than being snubbed by a dog!

So  that's how I spent my weekend.  I thought many times...."a little help here hubby"

SURE, that's gonna happen!









WARM FUZZY FEELINGS

I have to say, we are some pretty lucky pups!  First we get the new bed  that was amazing to sleep on in the summer...so cool and refreshing...now we get this new fuzzy, warm cover for it so we can be warm and cozy for winter

 

Yup, that me on there!  Doesn't that even look warm?

 

Thanks parents!  Oh and one more thing....

 

SURPRISE!

Our favorite girl in the WHOLE WORLD came for a sleepover, she really likes our fuzzy cover too!  Now doesn't that make you feel warm and fuzzy all over?

SUMMER FUN WITH OUR LITTLE PEOPLE

 All our summer get togethers are almost over, wow what are we going to do with ourselves?  All us doggies has so much fun with our little people....I guess our parents too.  We would recommend every doggie get some little people...they do so much for you and can really keep you entertained.

 

They pretend they are just like us and beg for treat....they really didn't like bones though

 

They even like swimming with us in our pool

 

We can usually beg a morsel of food from Alexa or any of the little people for that fact.

 

And theres always plenty of hugs and......

 

Bubbles....and.....

 

.......cartoons.....and

 

....wagon rides

and

Pets....cant forget the pets!

 

I hope all my doggie friends had as great of a summer as ours and part of it was spent with the little people in your life.

A VERY EVENTFUL SUMMER THUS FAR......

Hi everyone!  Cant believe it has been awhile since I have come on my blog.  I guess I had been busy feeling sorry for myself!

I had been running for exercise and was actually getting pretty good at.  I had lost some weight and was able to run 5 miles at a time in 13 weeks.  I was really starting to feel and look great.....until this.....

Yes that's my leg and that's Rudy in the background pouting from lack of doggie walks for 3 weeks.

Anyway, in the process of trying to better myself I pushed myself too hard and now have a tibia fracture and of course they don't heal very fast!  It is awful wearing this thing in the heat we have been having and I'm miserable....My summer has actually been a waste to say the least!

One a happier note, there is a new member in our family.  He is a great Pyrenees/Aussie mix and he was shipped from Oklahoma to Wisconsin from a puppy mill to our humane society.  He had six brothers and sisters and I hope they have all found good homes too.  Yukon is a super smart dog and learns tricks easy...He is 9 weeks old and already knows how to sit and shake hands.  Hes not mine though...I'm just his gramma....but he comes to run with my six doggies often.

I have my 52nd birthday and my daughter, son in law and granddaughters surprised me with a small party...how exciting and thoughtful it was!

I also spent lots of time with my grand kids and doggies...just sitting around.

ahhhh...this is the life!

Hope everybody has had a great summer....I expect to have a great fall season as soon as my boot comes off.  We are already planning a hiking/camping trip in September....cant wait!







STILL BUSY!

Hi everyone!  Just want to leave a small note to let everyone no we are still around.  Summer is in full swing here with our 5 kids and 9 grandkids, I dont expect it to get better until fall.

We are also in the process of training our doggies to be better citizens (not so much barking!) so we can take them ALL on a camping trip in august...we cant wait.

BUBBLE FUN!

As everyone knows, we are bubble fanatics!  Mom usually does them at night for us to help us get out some energy before bed.  Well we were lucky enough to have Aiden for a sleepover, and well, he is an awesome bubble blower too!

RUDY BABYSITS

I was the luckiest dog ever!  My mom asked me to"Keep an Eye" on Olivia while she got her a bottle.  I thought I might as well give her a bath while I was watching her too.

THUNDER AND LIGHTNING....VERY, VERY FRIGHTNING

Thunderstorms scare us!  With that said we can say we had a very restless night and mom had to keep telling Dexter to hush every time it thundered...he commenced to bark after every boom!

It was another sleepover nite with our favs, Ava and Alexa, and how they managed to sleep threw the night we will never no.  It stormed all night and into the day so it was nice to have Alexa comfort us when mom and dad were busy.
