Once a month we switch our old dog bones for new raw meat dog bones. I buy beef soup bones with bits of meat and fat on them and full of luscious bone marrow that takes days for the dogs to get it all out. I also buy racks of beef ribs that happen to be on sale due to lack of substance(meat for humans), at least that would be my guess, and cut them into single ribs to be frozen and given to the doggies to chew in hot summer months, kinda like a meat popsicle!
Today happened to be bone day. It is muddy from the mild winter we have been having, which I may add, I don't mind at all. The muddy mess on the floor on a continuous bases from the in and out of the dogs looking for something to do was getting monotonous, Then...I remembered the bones all nice and frozen that would keep them very happy for at least a few hour. The hardwood floor in the dining room makes a great bone chewing area and a few hours of peace is well worth the the dirty floor!
Oh happy bone day!
This is heaven!
Yum yum yum!
I love my mom!
I think I got the biggest!
Taste great!
It's bone day? I did not know that....I will go and get mine right now! Thanks for letting me know! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteHey Guys,
ReplyDeleteI think I need to head over to yours when it's bone day too!!
I just get a new bone whenever Mum gets round to getting me one and let me tell you it's nothing like yours, I still love it though, it tastes good - but it's all kind of clean and has nothing in the middle until Mum puts some Carrots in - Mum's vegetarian so she struggles with the whole bone thing, I keep reminding her that I'm NOT!! Have fun,
Your pal Snoopy :)
Hi Y'all,
ReplyDeleteSome dogs have all the fun! Unfortunately food allergies keep me on a severely restricted diet.
Y'all come back now,

Bone day. Yay! What a great idea with the beef ribs! It sure looks like it kept everybody busy!

A chew-a-thon commences!
ReplyDeleteI also love giving my dogs beef bones. The marrow does take forever to get out. Sometimes I couldn't help but assist them by tapping the bones so it makes it easier to take out.
Happy Bone Day.
